At SECC we are passionate about living out our faith through service to God and people. We believe that there is a strong call on Christians to believe but to also act. We run many different ministries in the Church:

XCITE

CRÈCHE

MEN’S AND WOMEN’S MINISTRY

MISSION TO SENIORS

OPEN DOOR

Every Friday during school terms, Zone 1 and 2 are held at the church, where local children and young people enjoy activities, crafts, and learning more about the Bible.
Zone provides a space for children to play, make friends, and discover more about God

We support a number of missionaries and organisations in South America, Nepal, and Gambia. Our team ensures they are prayed for, encouraged, and supported by the church.

During our morning services, a dedicated, DBS-checked team of leaders and helpers runs two groups for primary and secondary-aged children. These sessions are interactive, fun, and faith-filled, giving children and young people the opportunity to learn and grow in their faith.

Alongside Xcite, our crèche is available for families with babies and toddlers to be cared for and feel part of the church family. DBS-checked volunteers are there to help.

For the past 10 years, we have been addressing the issue of ‘holiday hunger’. Make Lunch is a national organisation that provides warm, nutritious meals for local families. At Make Lunch, we offer meals, activities, and friendship.

We are passionate about growing in our faith. We do this through relevant Sunday morning talks, a strong Connect Group structure, and additional events and courses. For example, we routinely run the Alpha Course, The Bible Course, and the Freedom in Christ Course.

On Sunday afternoons, we run Youth Connect Groups where church children and young people study God’s Word, ask questions, and explore issues relevant to them.

As a church, we recognise the importance of providing opportunities for men and women to meet separately.
For women, we run ‘Take Aways’, where food is shared and someone gives a thought or testimony. ‘Prayer, Praise, and Pack Lunch’ is an opportunity to worship, pray, and eat together.
For men, we host regular BBQs, a Men’s Connect Group, and an annual men’s conference.

Since 2008, we have held a bi-weekly service at the local Hailey Centre. This simple service is aimed at elderly people and includes hymns, prayers, and a short message

Most Friday mornings (for the past 30 years!), Open Door has welcomed local people who care for babies and toddlers. They are invited to come to the building, build friendships, play, sing songs, and hear a Bible story.
